Position Summary
Build and lead all commercial operations capabilities to support the company's inaugural oncology launch, including forecasting, analytics, incentive compensation, CRM, field effectiveness, data strategy, territory design, and business insights.
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Commercial Officer and Commercial Leadership Team in developing and executing the commercial strategy for PMV Pharma's first product launch and future growth opportunities.
- Establish the commercial operating model, governance structure, planning processes, and performance management framework to support a successful oncology launch.
- Lead development and execution of annual business planning, strategic planning, launch planning, and long-range commercial forecasting processes.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and resource requirements, providing actionable recommendations to executive leadership.
- Drive alignment across Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, and external partners to ensure coordinated execution of key business objectives.
Launch Excellence & Commercial Readiness
- Lead cross-functional launch readiness planning and governance, ensuring all commercial workstreams achieve key milestones and are positioned for successful market entry.
- Develop integrated launch plans, readiness scorecards, scenario planning frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Establish launch command-center processes and executive reporting mechanisms to support decision-making before and after launch.
- Monitor launch performance metrics and lead post-launch optimization efforts to drive commercial effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Forecasting, Analytics & Business Insights
- Own commercial forecasting processes, including patient-based forecasting, demand planning, market modeling, and scenario analyses in collaboration with Finance and Market Access.
- Build commercial analytics capabilities that provide actionable insights across sales performance, patient journey, market dynamics, customer engagement, access, and promotional effectiveness.
- Lead development of executive dashboards and business intelligence reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
- Evaluate market trends, competitive activity, customer behavior, and emerging opportunities to inform commercial strategy.
Sales Force Effectiveness & Field Operations
- Design and implement sales force infrastructure, targeting, territory alignment, incentive compensation, call planning, CRM utilization, and performance management processes.
- Partner with Sales Leadership to optimize field deployment strategies, resource allocation, and execution effectiveness.
- Oversee commercial technology platforms and tools, including CRM, data vendors, reporting systems, and field enablement solutions.
- Develop field communication processes that ensure consistent execution, regulatory compliance, and rapid dissemination of business-critical information.
Commercial Operations Infrastructure
- Build and scale commercial operations capabilities appropriate for a growing biotechnology organization.
- Lead selection and management of commercial vendors, data providers, consultants, and technology partners.
- Establish policies, procedures, and operational processes that support launch readiness and long-term commercial scalability.
- Ensure all commercial operations activities meet legal, regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements.
Customer Engagement & Commercial Enablement
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, and Medical Affairs to develop customer engagement strategies and performance measurement frameworks.
- Support development of omnichannel engagement strategies and customer experience initiatives.
- Ensure customer data, segmentation, targeting, and market insights are effectively translated into commercial action plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer engagement and commercial productivity.
Financial Management & Resource Planning
- Collaborate with Finance to develop commercial budgets, resource plans, and investment prioritization strategies.
- Monitor commercial spending, vendor performance, and return on investment for key commercial programs and initiatives.
- Establish processes to evaluate commercial effectiveness and optimize resource allocation across functions.
Requirements
- 12-15+ years of commercial operations leadership experience.
- Oncology launch experience with direct responsibility for first commercial launch execution.
- Experience building commercial infrastructure in a pre-commercial or emerging biotech.
- Deep expertise in forecasting, field force effectiveness, CRM, and commercial analytics.
- Proven experience supporting launch planning and execution.
- Strong financial and operational planning experience.
- Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional commercial teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching precision oncology, biomarker-driven, companion diagnostic-enabled, or rare oncology therapies
- Direct responsibility for building and scaling a market access function.
- Exposure to international launch planning.
Salary Range & Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $290K to $350K, representing the potential low and high ends. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors such as experience, skillset, and performance. The salary range listed is just one component of our total compensation package.
