The VP of Medical Affairs will build the US and Global Medical Affairs function and will be responsible for developing the strategic and tactical plans to support the development and launch of PMV’s oncology products.  This individual will report to the CMO and will work closely with the cross-functional team of colleagues in Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Business Development to contribute to clinical and regulatory strategies as well as the medical communication strategies of current and future clinical programs.

Responsibilities

Recruits a top-notch medical science liaison (MSL) team to support clinical development studies in US, EU and Asia Pacific

  • Serves as a key member of the cross functional development team(s) for clinical stage products
  • Works with cross functional development team and external consultants to develop scientific and medical communications strategies for scientific congress presentations, investor meetings, and scientific publications
  • Creates and/or contributes to scientific presentations and publications
  • Works with cross functional team to translate scientific content into understandable communications, develops/reviews/edits communications materials (e.g., press releases, training materials, medical information, educational materials), and ensures consistent and accurate communications
  • Works closely with the Head of Commercial and provides medical input into commercial strategies and activities
  • Participates in Clinical Department meetings and activities, and contributes to Clinical Development strategies and execution, as needed, in support of the delivery of registrational study(ies) in the US, EU and Asia Pacific
  • Develops an Expanded Access strategy and work with Clinical Development to implement and Expanded Access Plan
  • Provides input into the development and implementation of market-access and payor reimbursement strategies, including gap analyses and supporting data generation (e.g., data from clinical trial secondary endpoints, natural history studies, patient registries, etc.)
  • Builds relationships with key external stakeholders e.g., key investigators, thought leaders, scientific advisors in the US and globally
  • Leads the planning and facilitation of clinical advisory boards
  • Responsible for the financial management and reporting requirements for medical affairs, including forecasting and budget

Other Potential Responsibilities:

  • Supports the evaluation of in-licensing opportunities in collaboration with the CMO and the cross functional team
  • Reviews clinical trial proposals submitted by independent investigators and makes recommendations to the cross functional team whether the study merits PMV’s support
     

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO or equivalent) and training within Oncology (Board Certified or Board eligible in Medical    Oncology, Hematology/Oncology, or Pediatric Hematology/Oncology) with 7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience working in Oncology Clinical Development and/or Medical Affairs
  • An exceptional PhD or equivalent degree with extensive experience working in Oncology Clinical Development/Medical Affairs may also be considered
  • Strong track record of success hiring and developing talent
  • Proven ability to develop external relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and industry experts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including excellent skills at giving medical presentations to external audiences
  • Ability to travel within the US and internationally (approximately 15 to 20%)
